FMX Star Andre Villa Hits Up FreestyleXtreme For His UK Arenacross Kit

FMX hero and GQ Magazines Sexiest Man in Norway Andre Villa is a star of numerous Red Bull X-Fighter, FIM World Championship and Night of the Jump events events.

While he has performed his Freestyle tricks most frequently in America and mainland Europe, he hasnt had quite so many appearances over in the UK. Until now!

Villa has been drafted in to take part in the FMX section of the new UK Arenacross series and the Norwegian Fox Racing and Monster Energy athlete needed a customised kit to wear for the remainder of the shows. So, without his US pals to hand, he turned to FreestyleXtreme to personalise his new Fox kit for him. Check it out!

Based on the Fox 360 Vibron MX kit, you can see the special badges weve added that only any proper sponsored athlete has access to.

If you want to see Andre Villa in action, there is still time to catch him in the UK Arenacross FMX show on 2nd February at the LG Arena in Birmingham and Echo Arena in Liverpool on 10th February.

Dirty Toys Playmobil FMX

Even what I suspect may be Skrillex wasnt enough to discourage me from watching this awesome stop motion movie made with Playmobil Motocross bikes all the way through.

These little guys demonstrate some great whips and bust out some awesome backflips. It also demonstrates someone with an awful lot of spare time on their hands to make this for the purposes of entertaining the Internet. Well played, sir.

Dirt Bike Kidz Amateur FMX Contest

Dirt Bike Kidz is a movement that was set up by Jeremy Twitch Stenberg to help younger riders fulfil their dreams of becoming professioanal Freestyle Motocross riders.

By helping to host events and attracting other famous riders to help educate the kids, Twitch and his buddies are helping to form the future of FMX. One such contest was held earlier in December in Southern California at the Lucas Oil MX Park.

Take a look at some of the new up-and-coming-talent, as well as a display from Twitch and Blake Bilko Williams too.

FMX And Drifting At The Qatar Motorshow

Is it always party time in these Arab states? It certainly seems like they know how to have a good time. Of course, it helps that the Qatar Motorshow was in town, bringing along Red Bull and their talented collection of Freestyle and Rally athletes.

In particular, the rather lovely Burcu Cetinkaya - a female rally driver from Turkey who we might have fallen in love with a little bit. So, as a bonus, check out this video below of Burcu in action behind the wheel. 

Tom Pages Voted Best International Freestyle Motocross Rider In 2012 FMX Awards

With a string of consistently impressive performances around the world, it will come as little surprise to learn that French FMX star Tom Pages has been voted Best International Freestyle Motocross Rider for 2012 by the readers of www.fmxawards.com.

Picking up 35.3% of the votes, Pages was a clear winner over New Zealander Levi Sherwood, who ranked second with 23.7% of the votes. He was also awarded the position of Best European Rider and narrowly missed out the award for Best FMX Trick Innovation after his Special Flip move was edged out by Taka Higashinos Rock Solid Backflip.

The users also voted Higashino Best Asian FMX Rider, putting him on a par with Pages with two first places to his name.

Elsewhere German Luc Ackermann was voted Best European FMX Rookie and Best German FMX Rookie, while his elder brother Hannes Ackermann picked up his second consecutive award for Best German FMX Rider.

As in 2011, Nate Adams was named Best American FMX Rider. On the other side of the globe Josh Sheehan took Best Australian FMX Rider.

Considering her profile and worldwide tours with Nitro Circus, it might perhaps come as a shock to learn that Canadian Jolene van Vught lost our to Aussie Emma McFerran for the newly-created title of Best Female FMX Rider. Although, as McFerran has been known to perform some of her tricks, er, sans kit, we think that may have attracted a couple of votes...
