Jeffrey Herlings in yet more sand

Unless youve been living under a rock for the last year or two, youll already be fully aware of a certain Dutchmans ability to ride a dirt-scooter in sand.

Yup, were talking about Mr Herlings again. In  out opinion, hes THE greatest sand rider Motocross has ever witnessed, a point which was emphasised at both the Motocross of Nations, and the Benelux GP.

Here we see a video of him doing what he does best, hammering round in ridiculously deep sand. With both onboard and track-side footage youre in for a real treat, its really no wonder hes so darn fast.

Valentino Rossi Takes A Spin In Kyle Buschs NASCAR Ride!

Slowly but surely the Doctor is crossing off a drive in almost every form of Motorsport: MotoGP, Rally, F1, GT1 and now, thanks to follow Monster Energy Athlete (and record holder for the most NASCAR Nationwide Series wins) Kyle Busch, he can add NASCAR to the list too.

Although the video is frustratingly low on information (what lap times did he manage at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and how did they compare to the NASCAR pros?), Monster at least went to the effort of branding up the car with a ton of Rossi stickers and a 46 badge...

Ryan Villopoto Wins 2013 Supercross In St Louis

There are certainly many valid claims to the legitimacy of it, but two-times champion Ryan Villopoto picked up his fourth win of the 2013 championship with another commanding victory at St.Louis.

Anyone who might question whether a Supercross race is exciting enough would have been duly silenced after the events on Saturday. St Louis had it all: crashes, restarts, intense racing and a couple of suspicious acts of rule breaking...

First things first. After a nasty accident between Kyle Chisholm and Matt Goerke on lap 3 (see the first video), the race was restarted with a not-often-seen single file line. With James Stewart having led the race up until that point, he sat at the front of the queue. Ryan Villopoto (who already seemed to avoid a wrist slapping for jumping while a medical flag was out) sat back in 6th. 

It wasnt a position he would stay in for long as both Villopoto and Chad Reed quickly work their way past Mike Alessi (who started in 3rd), to start  chasing down Justin Barcia in 2nd. Villopoto then muscles Reed out of 3rd before the end of lap five.

By lap eight, everything started to kick off: Barcia was sat on Stewarts tail, with Villopoto hot on the heels of Barcia. By lap 10, RV had overtaken Barcia and was swapping the lead with Stewart multiple times over the next couple of laps. At one point, both Ryan Villopoto and Justin Barcia sit ahead of James Stewart but Barcia tags a tuff block on lap 13 which allows Stewart, Reed and - from out of nowhere - Ryan Dungey to get past, pushing Barcia back to 5th.

With five laps left to go, we are shown a replay of VIllopoto passing Stewart on a yellow flag but it seems that the race officials let the Monster Energy riders second infraction slide.

So, by the end of the race, RV takes a big chunk out of Millsaps points lead (Davi finished back in 6th) and Ryan Dungey sits as a quiet threat in 3rd. There are seven races still to go, but Villopoto is showing that he wont let anything get in his way on his mission for a third championship title.

RECOIL Ballistic BJ Baldwin in his Monster Truck

We love the internet. The days of boring commercials are long gone, and have been replaced by incredible infomercials such as this one, released yesterday from Monster Energy. In essence, its a dude driving through the desert (and into Las Vegas) in a trophy truck. Really quite quickly.

Starting out in his garage, BJ Baldwin heads out to a casino in Vegas. While doing so, he happens to stumble across a rather attractive young lady, who appears to have broken down in her Nissan GT-R. Nightmare. As the gentleman that he is, he stopped to pick her up and take her to the casino. To make sure they get to said casino in time, he jumps, drifts and occasionally flies through the desert in spectacular fashion.

Thats pretty much the size of it! Now for our opinion.. Overall, its a pretty darn cool. They are trying a little hard in places (notably the girl who gets covered in dirt), but its worth spending the 5 minutes to have a watch.

Brian Deegan A Day In The Life

We know that Metal Mulisha bossman Brian Deegan, aka The General, is a freestyle OG. And, being such a pioneer in the world of action sports comes with its own unique rewards. 

But now we know that, unless our numbers come up, we are unlikely to ever have a track in our front yard that we can use specifically to test our off road truck. A truck built in our own on-site workshop by a team of our own dedicated mechanics. Well, Deegan does. And he can then play around in them, after hes finished fooling about on his motocross bike or practising some freestyle with his FMX buddies. 

Man, what a life. We hope that Hayden Deegan picks up some of his daddys skills to make him proud, else hes gonna grow up one spoiled little dude...

Dany Torres Wins 2013 Red Bull X Fighters In Dubai

The standard at this years Red Bull X-Fighters is absolutely outstanding. As you will see from this highlight video, the complexity, imagination and bravery of the competitors looks even more impressive than ever.

Cheered on by 18,000 fans (which included members of Dubais royal family!) riders Levi Sherwood, Rod Adelberg, Thomas Pages and Dany Torres battled it out for supremacy with a series of polished and innovative performances that carried them through to the later rounds.

After an uncharacteristic mistake from Pages and a faultless performance from Danny Torres allowed the Spaniard to take the victory and the championship points lead.

Nitro Circus Live in NZ Time Lapse Show

Its only a few weeks until the Nitro Circus Live show tour kicks off in Europe. After hearing great things about the sell out shows from the NC crews visit to Australia and New Zealand, we cant wait until we get to see it ourselves.

Tom Pages Voted Best International Freestyle Motocross Rider In 2012 FMX Awards

With a string of consistently impressive performances around the world, it will come as little surprise to learn that French FMX star Tom Pages has been voted Best International Freestyle Motocross Rider for 2012 by the readers of www.fmxawards.com.

Picking up 35.3% of the votes, Pages was a clear winner over New Zealander Levi Sherwood, who ranked second with 23.7% of the votes. He was also awarded the position of Best European Rider and narrowly missed out the award for Best FMX Trick Innovation after his Special Flip move was edged out by Taka Higashinos Rock Solid Backflip.

The users also voted Higashino Best Asian FMX Rider, putting him on a par with Pages with two first places to his name.

Elsewhere German Luc Ackermann was voted Best European FMX Rookie and Best German FMX Rookie, while his elder brother Hannes Ackermann picked up his second consecutive award for Best German FMX Rider.

As in 2011, Nate Adams was named Best American FMX Rider. On the other side of the globe Josh Sheehan took Best Australian FMX Rider.

Considering her profile and worldwide tours with Nitro Circus, it might perhaps come as a shock to learn that Canadian Jolene van Vught lost our to Aussie Emma McFerran for the newly-created title of Best Female FMX Rider. Although, as McFerran has been known to perform some of her tricks, er, sans kit, we think that may have attracted a couple of votes...
