Know That Film Bro

How do you like the sound of a fictionalised FMX movie starring the Metal Mulisha and Machete star Danny Trejo? Then you want to mark soon in your diary for the most bro-dacious new film youre ever likely to see called, er, Bro.

From the end of June to mid-July, the independent film Bro starring Mulisha riders Beau Manley and Colin Scummy Morrison ran at selected cinemas across Southern California and it will soon be heading for a worldwide DVD release too.

Filmed over the course of two years, with a budget than rocketed from $10,000 to over $500,000, Bro follows actor Will Chavezs character Johnny as he is introduced to the rock and roll lifestyle of freestyle motocross by a hard partying girlfriend. Its here that Johnny meets Manley and Morrisons characters Jesse and Rudy and ultimately gets dragged into the Californian drug trade.

"Its a film about a kid who gets caught up in a lifestyle that is interesting to him on the surface but has a lot more going on beneath the surface than he realises or wants to be a part of," says first-time director Nick Parada. "Were getting some people asking, Hey, why are you mixing up drugs and gangs and FMX in your story? Its fiction, but once I started doing research and talking with guys like Beau Manley and Scummy they all told me, A lot of this is actually not far from the truth."

You can find out more on Bro on the official site, or at the Bro Facebook page. Cool film, bro.
