Thomas Pages Victorious At X Fighters Munich!

While much of the world were focused on the events of the last 24 hours of London 2012, the athletic action was arguably even more spectacular at Munichs Olympic Stadium for the fifth round of this years Red Bull X Fighters competition.

Although we predicted that the 30,000 strong audience (including the winner of our recent FreestyleXtreme competition, more about that soon hopefully) would discover a clear champion in Munich, in fact the overall title will still be decided at the final in Australia...

Despite a long run of success from New Zealander Levi Sherwood and a new trick from current champ Danny Torres (called the Oxecutioner), the night belonged to Thomas Pages who achieved something no other rider has managed for ten years; to win an event without using a backflip.

The result means that both Sherwood and Pages have 235 points, with six other riders who could potentially snatch a series if the two leaders fail to score points in the final. That is, we think so - we still havent quite got our heads around the Throw Out Rule, where a rider can effectively drop one of their low scores...

Eh, whatever - the final round in Sydney is gonna be awesome!
